This rug is entirely handmade, from the spinning of the yarns to the weaving on the loom. It is unique, and has been crafted by weavers in the Kathmandu area, whose skills have been passed down through many generations. The Rug Company uses only the finest naturl yarns; the Tibetan wool is renowned for its softness and durability, while the fine silk brings a delicate lustre that enhances the design of the rug.

The Mamounia rug was inspired by my travels to Morocco and my love of all things orientalist. Taken from an ancient traditional tile, I simplified the design and as such a more modern, multiple use pattern has evolved. I believe the simplicity juxtaposed with the exotic flavor of this rug lends an air of utter luxuriousness to any interior, be it traditional or modern. This design is timeless and without boundaries.
